What are you expecting at the big return of Gatecrasher's Summer Sound System this year? Big things!
The line up is a veritable who's who of artists old and new. Where will you be dancing when you're not playing and who are you most excited about seeing? We're excited to hear Radioclit's set as well as Audio Bullys, but also Kissy Sell out, Digitalism and Annie Mac and also Switch and Bloc Party and.....
This year Gatecrasher is celebrating 20 years of acid house. How significant was 1988 to you?
A lot, we learnt to ride a bike, to read and almost to write....yeah was a little retarded!
There are over 450 festivals in the UK alone. What do you think makes Summer Sound System special?
Basically the sound system.
What is your all-time favourite track to play and which is your favourite to listen to in your own time?
Rhythm is a dancer to play and sarà perchè ti amo by Ricchi e Poveri to listen
Who would be in your fantasy line up?
Madlib, Raffaella Carrà, Soulwax and Igor Stravinsky...eventually also Medeski Martin and Wood
What's your favourite festival memory? Never been to festivals...in Italy we have the festival of San Remo but it's not so exciting...
Myspace are partners with the event this year – how important is myspace in to your career and you fans?
If I had to be precise i'd say it has been 90% of the promotion thing, it's veeeeery important!
Music moves in cycles and reinvents itself every 10 years – discuss.
...also every 20!! i'm discovering stuff from '88 now..was too busy learning to ride bikes back then! I'm talking about hip house releases on Dj international rec (Fast Eddie..) and some Dance Mania records blow us away!
